Nando's

Hove, Brighton

The design presentation pack for Nandos in Hove landed on my desk from STAC late 2014 and immediately caught the eye. The concept STAC had put together was based on the ship wreck that occurred off of the south coast near Dorset in January 2008, where more than 2000 tonnes of timber cargo was shed into the sea. Over time this started washing up on beaches all over the south coast, it was these formations of timber which led to the design of the external cladding on this retail unit.

Expect to see bespoke lighting throughout, silvered oak pendants, a huge parabolic feature made from copper pipe, Moroccan hand punched brass and verdigris copper spiral pendants.
