A new cinema development in the student-dominated town of Loughborough - the residents of which were excited to receive their first Nando's restaurant. Although an open single space site, the designers have used banquette seating, booths and vibrant screens to divide the restaurant into comfortable areas, each with its own feature: from a crazy geometric cork ceiling, simply edge lit with LED strip,to a bespoke brass pyramid pendant feature.

The space called for a large feature, to be seen from the glazed corner shopfront - the feature needed to be detailed and jewelery-like in contrast to the natural timbers and colourful seating. We came up with a simple brass pyramid shape, suspended as one, undulating feature lit from above and within.

In keeping with Nando's spirit, we designed some simple, knitted pendants to soften the lighting - we produced frames for Janie Knitted Textiles to weave dyed British lambs wool into patterns, resulting in some impressive pieces for the restaurant.
