A brand new hotel under the Doubletree by Hilton brand with restaurant, bar and conference facilities. The design inspiration stems from the London Borough's aviation history - named 'Hawkers Bar & Brasserie' after flight pioneer Harry Hawker.
The feel of the ground floor public areas remains warm and inviting with brass and copper materials prevalent throughout, mixed with exposed services and industrial details echoing the engineering inspiration.
Bespoke light features throughout by LC'93 with warm exposed LED filament lamps from Bright Goods.
The biggest design challenge centered on the exposed services and density of piping, tray-work and HVAC. Mapping a large framework based light feature was no easy task - even harder for the installation team. The result, however, was well worth the headaches.
