This refurbishment was the first of its kind and biggest to date across the Pizza Hut Restaurants’ portfolio. The re-opening forms part of a multi-million pound nationwide redesign programme by the casual dining company.
Working closely with Harrison, we produced a pioneering lighting scheme to allow the restaurant to transcend from day to night. Much of our design was focused on the venue, not as a daytime buffet, but as a restaurant and cocktail destination for evening custom.
The challenge on this site was to ensure the lighting scheme enabled the space to totally transform between day and night. We decided the best way to do this was to introduce further layers of lighting purely at nighttime. We did this by designing each bespoke light fitting to have dual functions.
We also installed a pixel wall - LED pixel strip which is normally only found in nightclubs, was mounted onto the back of timber pallets which covered the walls of the restaurant, the whole wall can then be programmed to cycle through patterns and colours giving the restaurant a truly unique space for its evening crowd.
